Holidays in Kololi are based in The Gambia’s most popular resort. Days are spent on the long sandy beach and in the many bars, restaurants and discos on a night time. The resort is usually known locally as Senegambia and home to some of the most popular hotels in the Gambia. Popular nightspots include Ali Baba's garden and Choosans for live regae and African music.
Kololi holidays are usually pretty lively, the resort has a number of bars and restaurants as well as shops and stalls in the Senegambia craft market. The restaurants are varied and have something to suit everyone, the likes of Ali Baba's is great for those on a budget and the likes of Cora and Scala offer upmarket meals at a fraction of the cost of the UK. The beach stretches for miles and you will not need to walk far to be in a isolated spot. Hotels such as The Senegambia, The Kairaba and The Jerma Beach are situated in the Kololi beach area and they attract repeat guests year after year. Kololi also has a casino, a number of shops and exchange bureaus.
There is still a relaxing feel to the resort, with lazy daytimes spent on the beach or around the pool, and night times in one of the many restaurants and bars. A nice morning out is nearby Bijilo Forest Park, where you can see lots of different kinds of birds and the local monkeys.
For sports fans, try a spot of fishing or the newest golf course in the Gambia is found at the Kololi Beach Club, a par three course with eighteen holes. For a quieter night visit nearby Kotu Beach.
