Just imagine a beautiful white sand beach that stretches for as far as the eye can see, backed by majestic sand dunes and crystal clear waters, well you could well be thinking of Patara. The beach stretches for 18kms and is set on the Lycian coast of Turkey.
Patara was once a main port for the Roman empire and it's other claim to fame is that it is the birthplace of St. Nicolas (or Santa Claus as he is better known).
Patara town is around 2kms from the beach and has a village feel and a number of low key bars and restaurants as well as a number of stalls and shops. The resort of Kalkan is just 25 minutes away by local dolmus and Kas a further 15 minutes on for a wider selection of shops and restaurants.
Transfer time from Dalaman airport is approx. 1 hour 30 minutes
