Tunisia - Time to go back

Tunisia has had it's fair share of problems recently, however the country has dusted itself down and moved on quite quickly. Tourists have returned to enjoy their holidays in Tunisia within a couple of months of the old regime crumbling and life is pretty much back to the way it was. Although many hoteliers claim there was little or nothing happening in the tourist resorts. So why are tourists returning to Tunisia so quickly?

Tunisia is an amazing country with thousands of years of history, the ancient city of Carthage was built by the Phoenicians and was a big rival to Rome during the Roman era. It is a popular excursion for tourists who like to combine it with a visit to Tunis. There are many ancient cities and monuments just waiting to be discovered by tourists. Other popular sights are the amazing Desert Safaris, which take place in the Sahara desert and are usually on 4 wheel motor scooters. There are also visits to the film sets of the English Paitent and Luke Skywalker's home in Star Wars.

The resorts of Tunisia have been welcoming people on holiday for many years and it is easy to see why Tunisia holidays are popular. The locals are friendly and very welcoming to tourists. The main attractions of a Tunisia holiday is the stunning sandy beaches that the country has been blessed with, all of which are lapped by the gorgeous Mediterranean Sea. The ancient town of Sousse once a hotspot for the Romans and Byzantines, has been brought into modern times and is enjoyed by holidaymakers today. New resorts such as Port El Kantaoui and Yasmine Hammamet have sprung up with modern hotels and marinas that are popular destinations for visitors.

Modern new hotels ranging from three to five star are the main destinations for holidays in Tunisia and most offer bed and breakfast, half board or all inclusive and are quite often better priced than some of the other holiday destinations in the Med, thanks to the country being outside the Eurozone. Tunisia also offers a great range of golf courses and watersports. Whatever you like to do on your holiday, a trip to Tunisia is likely to tick most if not all of the boxes.
